Fall Outfit Of The Day

A little late is always better than never. I posted this outfit the other day on instagram but hadn't had a chance to get it on the blog until now. This is a pretty simple outfit of the day and I will list the details below. Always make sure to click on the IG picture and the labels will pop up in the picture.

The black & white striped sweater and "J'adore" shirt are from Old Navy. The sweater was purchased last year and the t-shirt was purchased early this year. The jeans are Joe's Jeans vintage reserve and I found them at a TJ Maxx in MA. My flats & clutch are both from Target, they were purchased in September so they are probably still available. The Bangle is from my previous post and is Alex & Ani in the Rose birthstone. My Watch is Kate Spade New York and was purchased at Belk.

I hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Alex and Ani Birthstone Bangles

I am a pretty sentimental person so when I saw the Alex and Ani Birthstone collection, I fell in love.
We don't have any kids yet but I have 2 really amazing dogs that I consider my kids. Chunk is a chocolate lab and Fred is a golden retriever mix. I decided I wanted birthstones that represented my little family.

The Emerald is for May and represents myself & Fred.
The Rose is for October and is for my Husband.
Last but certainly not least is the Aquamarine and it's for Chunk.

The bangles are pretty simple but mean a lot to me.

Towne & Reese Jewelry

It's safe to say I have an obsession with statement necklaces.
I love the way they can make the most basic outfits pop. I have recently found a brand that I'm loving. Towne & Reese Jewelry. I ran across a necklace at the local Belk store and was instantly drawn to it. I wasn't sure I was ready to drop $70 on it so I decided to pass on it. Later in the day I was still thinking of how I would style this necklace and make it work for me so I decided to hop onto Belk.com and see if they had it online. Just my luck they did and it was on sale for $49. I decided to use my Belk card to get an extra 20% off  and I ended up getting 3 of their necklaces for the price of the one I originally wanted & that to me is awesome. I love a good sale.

The above picture is of the 3 necklaces I purchased. I chose the small "Love" bar necklace because it is perfect for everyday & the other 2 because they are gorgeous. I also like how Towne & Reese put the small bird detail onto the clasp. It adds another element to the jewelry. If you haven't checked out this brand, you definitely should.

Vampy Lips

Since today is the first official day of Fall, I figured what better way to kick the blog off than a post about vampy lips.
Below I have 6 of my current favorites along with swatches.

From Left To Right:
NYX Butter Gloss: Devils Food Cake
Wet n' Wild: Cherry Bomb & Cinnamon Spice
Rimmel: Bordeaux
Maybelline Colorsensational: Deepest Cherry
Maybelline Colorsensational Matte: Divine Wine
(by the way, the matte shade is absolutely gorgeous on)

I wasn't always a fan of a dark lip, my teeth are not my favorite quality so I never wanted to draw attention to my mouth. As I've grown and gotten more confident in myself I've realized that it's okay if my smile isn't perfect. Everyone has one thing or another that they aren't always going to love but embracing the "flaws" will make life so much more enjoyable. So embrace & be happy. I'm gonna rock a dark lip several times this fall because I love it! In the picture above I'm wearing Wet n' Wild "Cherry Bomb" topped with the NYX Butter Gloss "Devil's Food Cake".

Welcome to the K&S Lifestyle Blog

Hi. Welcome to the K&S Lifestyle Blog. We're happy you're here.
My name is Katherine and the co-contributor of this blog is my good friend Sara.

I'm sure most people are wondering why I chose a co-contributor instead of just making my own blog & the answer is simple. I respect & admire her.

Sara and I met & work together in a salon in Asheville, NC. We are extremely similar and in many ways we are total opposites. We have a great time together but also have serious & deep conversations on a regular basis. We disagree on certain things but always remain respectful of one another. I'm pretty sure that's what makes our friendship so strong. I wanted her as a co-contributor on this blog because she's awesome. She has great views on life, she's well spoken, she's honest, & she has a killer sense of style. I'm sure you guys will enjoy her posts as much as I enjoy being around her.

I started this blog as a way to archive but also a way to share things about my life with you guys. I work full time and commute from a smaller town to Asheville, so this blog is more for fun than for business. Most of the photos you see will be taken with an iPhone but occasionally a Nikon. I won't ever promise something I can't deliver. I will however try to post as regularly as possible, even it's a random post about my favorite drink of the moment.

I hope to keep this blog updated with outfits, hairstyles, reviews of products, our favorite products of the moment, accessories, meals & recipes, & other random tidbits about our lives. To go along with this blog I've also started an instagram, twitter, and youtube.

We look forward to sharing with you guys & hopefully having you guys share with us.
